Storms Ciara, Dennis and Jorge have caused havoc, so I didn’t expect to be sitting by the bust banks of the River Ouse enjoying the sun outside The Star Inn the City pub. While waiting, with squinted eyes, I eagerly scanned the beer garden for two people looking for a photographer type person – me! This can be the most troublesome part of the whole pre-shoot as we don’t have a clue what each other look like. Meg and Will appeared looking most awesome and ready to get stuck in.
After we get the formal introductory questions out of the way, we quickly move onto the random bits in life and then their essential wedding details. Full with their likes and dislikes and a rather delicious pint of IPA we stepped outside onto York’s worn cobbled streets and in amongst the bustling tourists.
Meg and Will were in front of the camera now. I captured their nervous energy and initial awkward laughs. Their chemistry and undisguised love for each was so obvious to see. This is one of the many reasons that I love my job, and you can’t help but feel happy and upbeat after shooting with a couple like Meg and Will. Thank you for being the best!
