These two awesome lovebirds live in Leeds, a stones-throw from Hyde Park and the natural choice to capture their pre-wedding shoot. The weather was kind to us, as a few hours before I was stood in a field at a rather ‘yocal’ village fete where it was raining-cats-and-dogs. The fete had a very loose respect a for any kind of health and safety, sheep tossing, tug of war, plenty of ale and even plenty of rain. In true British fashion the show went on, but I soon had to head over to Leeds sudden wet through with ‘bath fingers’. Fran and Mike were more than up for the less than ideal weather, as Mike had got down on one knee and proposed to Fran on the coast of the North Sea, mid-Beast from the East in February! So I don’t think anything other than a catastrophic weather warning would have stopped them.

As ever, these engagement/pre-wedding shoots are a fantastic opportunity to meet you (the couple), have a good chat about your day and see how you interact. Also, I feel most importantly, it helps you become more relaxed, it gets you used to the camera and will help us take some great shots on the day and for your wedding.

This was a great opportunity to meet both Fran & Mike as most of our communication, like with all my weddings, was over email and maybe a phone call or two. We met briefly (plus cat) at their flat just a short stroll from Hyde Park. Their individual personalities shone through immediately, and they were quickly entwined in creating some stupendous shots and were suggesting their favourite places to sit and watch the world go by. One of these was under a huge tree where they’d often chill and enjoy each others company. Fran also mentioned that she loved daisies but was a little apprehensive to lie down because she might squash them 😉 Fran & Mike were super keen from the start, didn’t need any encouragement to display that much-needed affection and they were at one with me and the camera within minutes.

I hope you enjoy these images from this Leeds Engagement Shoot as much as I enjoyed taking them! I’d love to hear from you if you are remotely interested in a Pre-wedding/Engagement shoot or even better your wedding day – please get in touch.
