Birmingham Engagement Shoot – David & Roberta
This gorgeous pair live in Birmingham, so living nearby in Shrewsbury during the week made it a must to shoot in England’s second biggest city. Packed with Victorian redbrick houses and barges that drift down the city’s sleepy canals, you are immediately taken back to its industrial past; a great location for an engagement shoot.
These engagement/pre-wedding shoots have many benefits. Firstly, it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet you (the couple) and chat informally, get to know you and see how you interact. Secondly, it helps you become more relaxed and used to someone taking pictures of you. My job is to help you become at ease with what’s going on until you are both lost in your own moment but most importantly having a good laugh. The experience will be a fun one!
Birmingham Engagement Shoot
This shoot was super relaxed and full of laughter. When we left the restaurant we only had about 45 minutes of light left as we were lost chatting and enjoying some BOGOF Water Melon Margarita’s – Roberta 😉 The weather was good, but time was ticking as the sun was setting fast! David and Roberta had a couple of location ideas in mind so we shot off in the Yaris as soon as we could. The first location was a cool canal triple junction on the Canal Old Line, and the couple threw themselves straight in at the deep end (not literally, being adjacent to the Canal). David and Roberta made no mention that they may feel a little awkward, but the place was extremely busy and I quickly reassured them… within minutes they were relaxed and having fun. The second location was The Custard Factory, which would have been an incredible space internally… had it been open! Externally it was pretty awesome too, with its vibrantly painted old brick walls, but we had to act fast as it neared Civil Twilight.
I Hope you enjoy these images from this Birmingham Engagement Shoot as much as I enjoyed taking them! I’d love to hear from you if you are remotely interested in a Pre-wedding/Engagement shoot or even better your wedding day – please get in touch.
